Hydraulic scissor lift tables
Use hydraulic fluid to power the lifting mechanism. Hydraulic scissor lift tables utilize fluid mechanics to power their lifting operations, offering robust lifting capabilities and precise control over the load’s speed and height adjustments. This type is suitable for tasks that demand significant weight-handling capacity and where variability in lift speed is beneficial.
Pneumatic scissor lift tables
Operate on compressed air, making them suitable for environments where electricity poses a risk. Pneumatic scissor lift tables operate using pneumatic actuators, also known as airbags, instead of the traditional cylinder-based mechanisms. They are particularly suited for environments where electrical usage is restricted due to potential explosion or fire hazards, such as paint booths or chemical processing areas. These tables are safer in volatile environments and are valued for their minimal maintenance requirements and ease of cleaning. However, they generally offer less lifting force than hydraulic tables and rely on a consistent compressed air supply.

Electro-mechanical scissor lift tables are powered by electric motors, which drive mechanical components such as screws or gears to raise and lower the platform. Heavy-duty scissor lift tables
Built to lift hefty loads, often exceeding several thousand pounds.
The base frame supports the rest of the lift table. It has to be strong, rigid and stable. In most cases it is designed to be placed on the floor but it can also be built into a pit, supplied with wheels or casters or furnished with a fork lift chassie.
The scissors of a lift table provide a straight and steady vertical motion while supporting the platform. The two sets of scissor legs are connected by shafts at the center pivot points and upper and lower hinged ends.
The platform can be of any size that is compatible with the lift tables base frame and the scissors. However, the platform cannot be smaller than the length or width of the scissors or the base frame. But it can be higher and wider than the scissors and/or the base frame. Platforms can be furnished with a variety of options such as conveyor tops, turntables, tilt tops or tops equipped with clamps or special work fixtures.
The lift tables power pack (most commonly electro hydraulic) consists of an electric motor, hydraulic pump, hydraulic tank, hydraulic cylinder, piping, valving and the electrical control system. When the UP button is activated, the pump pumps fluid from the tank into the cylinders causing the piston and shaft to move. The piston shaft is mechanically linked to the leg assemblies and drives them to raise the platform. A check valve in the hydraulic line between the pump and the cylinder prevent fluid from flowing backwards so the platform will remain at whatever height it is at when the UP button is deactivated. When the DOWN button is activated, a solenoid down valve opens, allowing hydraulic fluid to flow back to the reservoir. The motor does not run when the lift is lowering. The weight of the platform and gravity combine to create pressure in the cylinder that forces the fluid to flow back to the reservoir. A flow control valve located on the lowering valve VE 25, can be adjusted to provide the most desirable down speed. When the DOWN button is deactivated, the lowering valve closes and the table's height becomes fixated. The valve arrangement prevents the table from lowering if there is a power failure.
The standard control unit can either have a push-button function or a foot control function.




Reaching hard-to-reach places

Because stored products are hard to reach, hydraulic lift tables help warehouse employees load and unload products more easily. The scissor lift mechanism allows the table to stay low or reach higher levels. A warehouse worker can easily increase height to load objects and decrease the height to store products on a truck or pallet.

The upper floor of lift table consists of a smooth or diamond sheet metal cover, according to the need for use, and moves vertically parallel to the floor. The lifting system (scissors) is connected to one end of both the upper and lower frame; the other end of the lifting system slides in special horizontal guides, thanks to wheels, allowing the lifting table to run its stroke. The lift table is usually moved by a hydraulic pump motor. The activation of the engine through a special electrical panel allows oil to be transferred into the cylinders, thus ensuring the movement of the lifting table.
Intended use
Above all else, a scissor lift table should be selected based on its intended use. The use will help determine the capacity of the lift, the style, and any extra features that might be needed. Before you start shopping, it’s important to examine and analyze your needs so you can figure out the exact intended use for it. Make a list of your needs and the results you expect from the lift, and then use this to guide you for other considerations.
Mobility
Decide whether you are going to use the scissor lift table in a fixed location or if it needs to be mobile. Assembly and production lines would require one that can be set in a fixed location, whereas construction and maintenance work would require one that is mobile.
If you need it to be mobile, you’ll want to look into lift tables that can be powered by battery or gas, as some spots may not have electricity available.
Load
Another factor you need to take into consideration is the workload you need the lift to hold. Typically, a lift with more capacity is going to be more expensive. Therefore, if you have large loads that need to be moved, budget options may not be available to you.

Height
There are two aspects in regards to height that need to be considered when buying a lift. First, you need to consider the maximum height of the loads you need to transport. Lifts can be used to move loads to a portion of this height without any issue. You also need to consider the height of the lift when it’s collapsed, as it may need to be able to fit through a doorway or some other shorter structure.
Examine well and on schedule
It is important to not rush the examination or service, things can easily be missed. Also make sure to perform the regular service on time, there are suggested intervals in the scissor lift installation manual. While examining the scissor lift you should use your senses and examine the table carefully. Does something look worn out? If so, replace it. Feeling and listening is important too. Is everything tightened and appears to be working as intended? Be especially wary if you see small pools or specks of oil which could mean that there is a leak somewhere. Also watch out for jerky movement while operating the table. A scissor lift should always move smoothly without any irregular movements or stops. If the table moves unevenly, first check the floor beneath the table to make sure the surface is flat. Jerky movement could also mean that there is a problem with the cylinder. We recommend getting close and listening carefully while moving the table up and down. You will be able to hear if there are any issues with the cylinder even in a noisy environment. For example, if you hear a scratching sound it could mean that a bearing is becoming worn and needs your attention.
Plan your service and come prepared
Service of equipment can feel like extra work and hard to make time for. Especially if you attempt to perform the service during regular operations. However, most industries and companies have periods with little, less or even no activity – This is the perfect time to perform the service. With a little bit of planning and foresight you should be able to perform the service on time without impacting operations. Depending on the industry you are in it might be more or less difficult to plan ahead but the main idea is to make the most of natural down times like holiday seasons or low-demand periods. To make sure the service goes even more smoothly and does not require more time than necessary make sure that you have spare parts ordered and ready. It might be tempting to examine first and then order spare parts based on the findings. However, that just means that you have to halt operations at least once more to replace any potentially worn-out parts. Not only that, if you find any issues it would mean that you will have to operate the table with potentially problematic parts until the shipment arrives. Even if replacement parts should arrive swiftly, it will of course require some time for them to arrive.
